Chanel and her diamonds

This post seems very appropriate after the beautiful images of the previous one. Also, Coco Chanel is one of the ladies who would be my answer when asked the question, “Who, living or dead, would you like to invite to dinner?”

The Chanel brand is releasing installments called Inside Chanel – the first time that the brand is telling it’s story online.

In the video below it shows how Gabrielle Chanel changed the way the world looked at jewellery, in particular diamonds, in 1932 when she presented a collection exclusively dedicated to the diamond. She made sure that, “[Diamonds were] no longer trophies given by admirers but symbols of liberty”.

My favourite quote from this pioneer and lady of elegance, “I want jewels that slip between the fingers of a woman like a ribbon”
