Yes. This is as amazing as it sounds. I couldn’t really contain my excitement when I read about and if you are a jewllery nut like I am, you are going to love what I have to tell you. So digitalfashionshows.com is a website that acts as a showcase for customers the same way fashion runway shows do. You can view the collections online, see the designer bio, view the lookbooks etc.
BUT, from the 16th March, for the first time – a collection of the world’s jewellery designers will get to show their latest offering online! In other words instead of looking at a designer’s collection of clothes, you are getting to see a designers collection of jewellery! This is amazing becasue just like clothing designers, jewellery designers design for seasons too. But because the models are strutting amazing garments on the runway, the jewellery sometimes gets lost.
Not here. Here you can view designers by name and season. It is easier to pick up trends, see what jewellery designers are coming up with.. the list just goes on and on! Swarovski has helped put the whole thing together, and thus their newest range is featured. All the jewels are exquisite as well as extremely expensive. So this site is perfect for looking, but not actually buying.
Irene Neuwirth Jewellery is one of the designers featured and her bio explains that she ‘has emerged as a leading, independent jewelry brand, recognized by its uniquely modern and sophisticated designs. The jewelry has generated tremendous editorial attention and is worn by some of the most beautiful women in the world.’ (Awesome, beautiful women who can afford it obviously) ‘Today the collection is modern and timeless, with an element of edge and surprise.’Who says earring have to be exactly the same? I love these earring below because the stones were not cut to fit the earring, but rather the other way around. And this ring.. just takes my breath away! Maria Francesa Pepe Jewellery is a breath of fresh air. While most of the jewellery is pretty and chock a block with stones, this collection is inspired by British avant-garde. ‘The contrast of bold, sharp and geometric designs, combined with a touch of romanticism is what differentiates the MFP collections and makes it the brand of choice of the trendsetters.’ As the showcase is presented by Swarovski, it hosts the brands recent range. I must be honest, I’m not a great fan of Swarovski, purely becuase I jsut find it a little fussy for my liking. However I did spot some gems (pardon the pun).
These are all the Autumn/Winter 2013-14 ranges. Although it’s a small collection of jewellery for now, hopefully this takes off and becomes your one stop (window) shop for all things beautiful! To log on and see your yourself, visit the site here.
